The below chart lists the most-popular topics on the topical Bible<\/a> on the days after the U.S. presidential elections in 2012 and 2016.<\/p>\n

\n* “End times” includes the following topics: signs of the end times<\/a>, end of the world<\/a>, end of days<\/a>, the end of times<\/a>, in the last days<\/a>, last days<\/a>, the apocalypse<\/a>, judgment day<\/a>, america in the end times<\/a>. “Honoring leaders” includes: honoring leaders<\/a>, submission to human authority<\/a>, obeying authority<\/a>, respecting authorities<\/a>, respecting those in leadership<\/a>. “World government” includes: world government<\/a>, new world order<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Topping the list this year is “end times,” which includes several related topics. The “end times”-related “the antichrist<\/a>” and the 1990s-vintage “world government” also jumped a number of places. The Google Trends report for end times<\/i><\/a> shows spikes around the 2012 and 2016 elections, though world events (especially in the Middle East) regularly increase “end times”-related searches.<\/p>\n

“Power of words<\/a>” also jumped up a few places; during the October 7 news cycle around the Donald Trump\/Billy Bush video<\/a>, “power of words” was the fourth-most-popular topic, behind voting<\/a>, marriage<\/a>, and forgiveness<\/a>.<\/p>\n
