It\u2019s actually pretty easy.<\/p>\n<p>1. <a href=\"http:\/\/earth.google.com\/\">Download Google Earth<\/a> if you don\u2019t already have it installed. It\u2019s free, and it\u2019s useful for all sorts of things if you (or your kids) like maps at all.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/earth.google.com\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.openbible.info\/assets\/blog\/2007-03-download-ge.png\" width=\"500\" height=\"399\" alt=\"Google Earth homepage.\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>2. Go to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.openbible.info\/geo\/\">Geocoding page<\/a> and click the KML or KMZ file you want. I\u2019ll assume you want the file with all the places in the Bible.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.openbible.info\/assets\/blog\/2007-03-geo-page.png\" width=\"500\" height=\"400\" alt=\"The Geocoding page on OpenBible.info\" \/><\/p>\n<p>3. A popup window appears similar to the one below. Open the file directly with Google Earth. (Alternately, you can download the file somewhere, such as your Desktop, and open it there.)<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.openbible.info\/assets\/blog\/2007-03-open-file.png\" width=\"381\" height=\"297\" alt=\"Firefox or another browser prompts you to open or download the file. Open it.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>4. Google Earth opens. \u201cAll Bible Places\u201d appears under the \u201cTemporary Places\u201d folder in the sidebar.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.openbible.info\/assets\/blog\/2007-03-folder.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"399\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>5.Now use Google Earth however you want to. When you\u2019re done, close Google Earth to get the following prompt. Click \u201cYes\u201d if you want to save the places permanently to your computer.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.openbible.info\/assets\/blog\/2007-03-save-prompt.png\" width=\"288\" height=\"151\" alt=\"You have unsaved items in your \u201cTemporary Places\u201d folder. Would you like to save them to your \u201cMy Places\u201d folder?\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Now the places will appear whenever you start Google Earth.
