The hard part is finding the right phrase to produce a good visualization.<\/p>\n<p>Here are a couple of visualizations of the Old and New Testaments in the KJV Bible, using the pattern \u201c[word] of [word].\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>Old Testament<\/h3>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/manyeyes.alphaworks.ibm.com\/manyeyes\/visualizations\/of-in-the-old-testament\">Old Testament visualization<\/a> illustrates the centrality of ideas like \u201cChildren of Israel,\u201d \u201cKing of Israel,\u201d and \u201cLand of Israel.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/manyeyes.alphaworks.ibm.com\/manyeyes\/visualizations\/of-in-the-old-testament\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/a.openbible.info\/blog\/2009-03-ot.png\" alt=\"See the Old Testament visualization at Many Eyes (requires Java)\" width=\"684\" height=\"506\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>New Testament<\/h3>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/manyeyes.alphaworks.ibm.com\/manyeyes\/visualizations\/of-in-the-new-testament\">New Testament visualization<\/a> shows the shift in emphasis to \u201cSon of God\u201d and \u201cKingdom of God.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/manyeyes.alphaworks.ibm.com\/manyeyes\/visualizations\/of-in-the-new-testament\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/a.openbible.info\/blog\/2009-03-nt.png\" alt=\"See the New Testament visualization at Many Eyes (requires Java)\" width=\"684\" height=\"506\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Both visualizations require Java.<\/p>\n<p>Edit July 2015: IBM has closed Many Eyes, so the above links to the interactive visualizations no longer work.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The social data visualization site Many Eyes just unveiled a new visualization type, the Phrase Net, which illustrates phrase connections in textual content.
