This experiment explores whether an AI can produce useful prompts for Bible study. Each chapter of the Bible has summaries, questions, and applications generated by an AI (and reviewed by humans). Vote for content that you find helpful or unhelpful. While I reviewed all the content, some of it may be misleading, unhelpful, or even heretical, so please approach it with caution. Heading: The Council at Jerusalem decides that Gentile believers do not have to follow the Jewish law. 👍👎
Summary: The Council at Jerusalem convenes to discuss whether Gentile believers must be circumcised and follow the law of Moses. After much debate, Peter speaks up and says that Gentile believers should not be burdened with these things. He argues that the Gentiles have already been accepted by God and that circumcision would only serve to create division. The council agrees with Peter and sends a letter to the Gentile believers informing them of their decision.
Paul and Barnabas have a sharp disagreement over whether to take John Mark with them on their next missionary journey. Barnabas wants to give John Mark another chance, but Paul does not think that he can be trusted. The two men part ways, with Barnabas taking John Mark and Paul taking Silas. 👍👎
Application Question: What was the council’s final decision about the requirements for Gentile believers? (Acts 15:22-29) 👍👎
Exegetical Question: Who called the Council and who presided over it? 👍👎
Observation Question: How does Paul disagree with Barnabas? 👍👎
Group Discussion Question: What was the outcome of the council's meeting (Acts 15:5-29)? 👍👎
Prayer: We pray for unity among believers, that we would all be of one mind and one accord. 👍👎
Journal Prompt: Why do you think there was such a strong disagreement between Paul and Barnabas? 👍👎
