And Samson said, “Let me die with the Philistines.” Then he bowed with all his strength, and the house fell upon the lords and upon all the people who were in it. So the dead whom he killed at his death were more than those whom he had killed during his life.
And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.
For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.
Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. For you yourselves are fully aware that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.
He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him.
for he nearly died for the work of Christ, risking his life to complete what was lacking in your service to me.
Even if I am to be poured out as a drink offering upon the sacrificial offering of your faith, I am glad and rejoice with you all.
Then Paul answered, “What are you doing, weeping and breaking my heart? For I am ready not only to be imprisoned but even to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.”
But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.

And he found a fresh jawbone of a donkey, and put out his hand and took it, and with it he struck 1,000 men.
And he struck them hip and thigh with a great blow, and he went down and stayed in the cleft of the rock of Etam.
And the Spirit of the Lord rushed upon him, and he went down to Ashkelon and struck down thirty men of the town and took their spoil and gave the garments to those who had told the riddle. In hot anger he went back to his father's house.
