Do not sweep my soul away with sinners, nor my life with bloodthirsty men,
Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree of life and that they may enter the city by the gates. Outside are the dogs and sorcerers and the sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.
Oh that you would slay the wicked, O God! O men of blood, depart from me!
And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”
Then they also will answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to you?’
Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.
and will cut him in pieces and put him with the hypocrites. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Then once more you shall see the distinction between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God and one who does not serve him.
But you, O God, will cast them down into the pit of destruction; men of blood and treachery shall not live out half their days. But I will trust in you.
Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, O God of my salvation, and my tongue will sing aloud of your righteousness.
Of David. To you, O Lord, I call; my rock, be not deaf to me, lest, if you be silent to me, I become like those who go down to the pit. Hear the voice of my pleas for mercy, when I cry to you for help, when I lift up my hands toward your most holy sanctuary. Do not drag me off with the wicked, with the workers of evil, who speak peace with their neighbors while evil is in their hearts.
