they are not put to shame in evil times; in the days of famine they have abundance.
that he may deliver their soul from death and keep them alive in famine.
The Lord does not let the righteous go hungry, but he thwarts the craving of the wicked.
he will dwell on the heights; his place of defense will be the fortresses of rocks; his bread will be given him; his water will be sure.
In famine he will redeem you from death, and in war from the power of the sword. You shall be hidden from the lash of the tongue, and shall not fear destruction when it comes. At destruction and famine you shall laugh, and shall not fear the beasts of the earth.
Therefore he who is prudent will keep silent in such a time, for it is an evil time.
making the best use of the time, because the days are evil.
For man does not know his time. Like fish that are taken in an evil net, and like birds that are caught in a snare, so the children of man are snared at an evil time, when it suddenly falls upon them.
Therefore thus says the Lord: behold, against this family I am devising disaster, from which you cannot remove your necks, and you shall not walk haughtily, for it will be a time of disaster.
