In the first year of Darius the son of Ahasuerus, by descent a Mede, who was made king over the realm of the Chaldeans—
“And as for me, in the first year of Darius the Mede, I stood up to confirm and strengthen him.
And Darius the Mede received the kingdom, being about sixty-two years old. It pleased Darius to set over the kingdom 120 satraps, to be throughout the whole kingdom;
And Daniel was there until the first year of King Cyrus.
So this Daniel prospered during the reign of Darius and the reign of Cyrus the Persian.
