She bestowed her whoring upon them, the choicest men of Assyria all of them, and she defiled herself with all the idols of everyone after whom she lusted.
In the house of Israel I have seen a horrible thing; Ephraim's whoredom is there; Israel is defiled.
I know Ephraim, and Israel is not hidden from me; for now, O Ephraim, you have played the whore; Israel is defiled.
You shall say, Thus says the Lord God: A city that sheds blood in her midst, so that her time may come, and that makes idols to defile herself! And I said to them, ‘Cast away the detestable things your eyes feast on, every one of you, and do not defile yourselves with the idols of Egypt; I am the Lord your God.’

“But you trusted in your beauty and played the whore because of your renown and lavished your whorings on any passerby; your beauty became his.
Thus they became unclean by their acts, and played the whore in their deeds.
