if I have concealed my transgressions as others do by hiding my iniquity in my heart,
Whoever conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy.
But like Adam they transgressed the covenant; there they dealt faithlessly with me.
If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

Israel has sinned; they have transgressed my covenant that I commanded them; they have taken some of the devoted things; they have stolen and lied and put them among their own belongings.
The man said, “The woman whom you gave to be with me, she gave me fruit of the tree, and I ate.”
Then the eyes of both were opened, and they knew that they were naked. And they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves loincloths. And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden.
