The next day Jesus decided to go to Galilee. He found Philip and said to him, “Follow me.”
As Jesus passed on from there, he saw a man called Matthew sitting at the tax booth, and he said to him, “Follow me.” And he rose and followed him.
I was ready to be sought by those who did not ask for me; I was ready to be found by those who did not seek me. I said, “Here I am, here I am,” to a nation that was not called by my name.
Philip said to him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.”
So these came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida in Galilee, and asked him, “Sir, we wish to see Jesus.”
While walking by the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon (who is called Peter) and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen. And he said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” Immediately they left their nets and followed him. And going on from there he saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets, and he called them.
We love because he first loved us.
Lifting up his eyes, then, and seeing that a large crowd was coming toward him, Jesus said to Philip, “Where are we to buy bread, so that these people may eat?”
Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own.
These things took place in Bethany across the Jordan, where John was baptizing.
For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”
Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus;
Philip answered him, “Two hundred denarii worth of bread would not be enough for each of them to get a little.”
The next day again John was standing with two of his disciples,
