My mouth shall speak wisdom; the meditation of my heart shall be understanding.
The good person out of his good treasure brings forth good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure brings forth evil.
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.
Have I not written for you thirty sayings of counsel and knowledge, to make you know what is right and true, that you may give a true answer to those who sent you?
Incline your ear, and hear the words of the wise, and apply your heart to my knowledge,
and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
Hear, O sons, a father's instruction, and be attentive, that you may gain insight, for I give you good precepts; do not forsake my teaching.
The unfolding of your words gives light; it imparts understanding to the simple.
To the choirmaster: according to Lilies. A Maskil of the Sons of Korah; a love song. My heart overflows with a pleasing theme; I address my verses to the king; my tongue is like the pen of a ready scribe.
The mouth of the righteous utters wisdom, and his tongue speaks justice.
If not, listen to me; be silent, and I will teach you wisdom.”
My words declare the uprightness of my heart, and what my lips know they speak sincerely.
May my teaching drop as the rain, my speech distill as the dew, like gentle rain upon the tender grass, and like showers upon the herb.
Hear, for I will speak noble things, and from my lips will come what is right, for my mouth will utter truth; wickedness is an abomination to my lips. All the words of my mouth are righteous; there is nothing twisted or crooked in them. They are all straight to him who understands, and right to those who find knowledge. Take my instruction instead of silver, and knowledge rather than choice gold,
May my meditation be pleasing to him, for I rejoice in the Lord.
