For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life.
And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true; and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.
And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God that you may know that you have eternal life.
And this is the promise that he made to us—eternal life.
The life was made manifest, and we have seen it, and testify to it and proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and was made manifest to us—
That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we looked upon and have touched with our hands, concerning the word of life—
For “All flesh is like grass and all its glory like the flower of grass. The grass withers, and the flower falls,
Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.”
Yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes.
For the sun rises with its scorching heat and withers the grass; its flower falls, and its beauty perishes. So also will the rich man fade away in the midst of his pursuits.
And the rich in his humiliation, because like a flower of the grass he will pass away.
So that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
In hope of eternal life, which God, who never lies, promised before the ages began
And which now has been manifested through the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus, who abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel,
Thus storing up treasure for themselves as a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is truly life.
I charge you in the presence of God, who gives life to all things, and of Christ Jesus, who in his testimony before Pontius Pilate made the good confession,
Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called and about which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
For while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.
Who gave himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time.
But I received mercy for this reason, that in me, as the foremost, Jesus Christ might display his perfect patience as an example to those who were to believe in him for eternal life.
For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.

So you also must consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus.
Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him.
For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his.
We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.
So that, as sin reigned in death, grace also might reign through righteousness leading to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
As it is written, “I have made you the father of many nations”—in the presence of the God in whom he believed, who gives life to the dead and calls into existence the things that do not exist.
To those who by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, he will give eternal life;

Stop regarding man in whose nostrils is breath, for of what account is he?
And the dust returns to the earth as it was, and the spirit returns to God who gave it.
A good name is better than precious ointment, and the day of death than the day of birth. It is better to go to the house of mourning than to go to the house of feasting, for this is the end of all mankind, and the living will lay it to heart. Guard your steps when you go to the house of God. To draw near to listen is better than to offer the sacrifice of fools, for they do not know that they are doing evil. Be not rash with your mouth, nor let your heart be hasty to utter a word before God, for God is in heaven and you are on earth. Therefore let your words be few. For a dream comes with much business, and a fool's voice with many words. When you vow a vow to God, do not delay paying it, for he has no pleasure in fools. Pay what you vow. The Lord kills and brings to life; he brings down to Sheol and raises up.
