I will deliver you out of the hand of the wicked, and redeem you from the grasp of the ruthless.”
He delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us. On him we have set our hope that he will deliver us again.
Can the prey be taken from the mighty, or the captives of a tyrant be rescued? For thus says the Lord: “Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken, and the prey of the tyrant be rescued, for I will contend with those who contend with you, and I will save your children.
Their Redeemer is strong; the Lord of hosts is his name. He will surely plead their cause, that he may give rest to the earth, but unrest to the inhabitants of Babylon.
no weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed, and you shall refute every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and their vindication from me, declares the Lord.”
For the ruthless shall come to nothing and the scoffer cease, and all who watch to do evil shall be cut off,
The Lord helps them and delivers them; he delivers them from the wicked and saves them, because they take refuge in him.
When evildoers assail me to eat up my flesh, my adversaries and foes, it is they who stumble and fall.
the angel who has redeemed me from all evil, bless the boys; and in them let my name be carried on, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac; and let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth.”
But the multitude of your foreign foes shall be like small dust, and the multitude of the ruthless like passing chaff. And in an instant, suddenly,
Therefore strong peoples will glorify you; cities of ruthless nations will fear you. For you have been a stronghold to the poor, a stronghold to the needy in his distress, a shelter from the storm and a shade from the heat; for the breath of the ruthless is like a storm against a wall, like heat in a dry place. You subdue the noise of the foreigners; as heat by the shade of a cloud, so the song of the ruthless is put down.
The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
